View Full Version : Mascon
I downloaded the free mascon and installed it according to the directions, but when I try to create fields in a table the keyboard is not responding. In other words I can't type anything.
Does anyone know what's happening ?
Please help.

Whoa....that's a new one on me. No idea why that would be happening. Typically some java applets or even some heavy javascript can crash your computer upon page load.
I'm not that familiar with Mascon but I believe it's a PHP database admin program. I don't think there'd be anything in the script that would cause this.

Well, Basicly Free Mascon has some limitations, and I think creating fields is one of them when you try to do it from the menus, though I am not certain. You can use a dump file to create fields in your database with it, but a rather severe limitation is creating a dump file from your database to make a backup for yourself!
You have to reallise their promotion of the free virsion is a little misleading, it is really a limited demo. I sprang for the full version and could not be happier, (so far!)
By the way Mascon for those who do not know is a MySQL database administrator app for windows. It is not a script, and it is not writen in PHP as far as I know. There is a PHP script for admin of your MySQL database called phpMyAdmin. Personally, why clutter your site, loose the space, and fiddle with it, when the full version of Mascon works great from windows.
imho, Paul
