Just letting you know there were no Webstats for the 9th of July.
Anyone else missing them?.

Yes we're in the same boat at http://mich.info on the pluto server. Our company would like to subscribe to a site stat service for marketing purposes and have been waiting for PowWeb to correct the problem with the stat logs. At some point we may have to change hosts (what a nightmare that is) in order to continue to advance our company. Good luck!

On one of my sites, last webstats generated at 15 minutes after midnight PDT on 7/9/2002.

..... me too - on Comet. Made it through last weekend OK (first complete weekend in four weeks), but no WebStats for yesterday the 9th. All the data for the 9th is in the access_log, but nothing has been done with it. Bummer!

Management can respond at any time now. They cannot expect us to stay loyal to them if they will not be loyal to our concerns.
How many days of data will be lost this time?
At least it is not a system wide failure (so far) this time. I'm on Orion and so far my webstats are updating properly, and did update for the 9th.
I know that they are working with the programmer that wrote Webalizer, trying to figure out how to resolve this.
Just my "For What It's Worth"
No Webstats update for my site for the 9th - on Jupiter. :(
Hehe, this is just a thought, but I'm sure with all the time we spent complaining about Webstats not working, we could have made an insane PHP script that parsed the access_log and worked flawlessly. :-P

Nearly 12 hours since I first posted this notification and not one response from Powweb.
Powweb management, do you see where frustration comes from? Your silence.

Prisoner, these boards are not official technical support channels. Even though Admins frequent the boards here, they are under no obligation to fix every problem posted here.
If there is a problem you have not had resolved, please e-mail support@powweb.com. Or give them a phone call (the number is on the website).
Good luck!
You beat me to it, RadioRob!

Why don't you two read the Powweb website about what they offer. To make it easy for you here it is.
We offer 4 channels of support: (http://support.powweb.com/)
Either this is a channel of support or it isn't.
If you have nothing to add to solve the problem I posted, then stay out of it.

All I'm saying is if you don't get the help you want here, try one of the other 3 means of support. You obviously know what they are... so I don't see why you would have to be so set on having your questions answered on the boards.
Also... not to be rude, but if you don't like what I have to say then you can use the board filters to not see what I post. But at the same point, you don't have to resolve to just saying shut up. I've had the curtesy to not do that to you or anyone else here on the boards.
Again... my apologies if it seems I'm being rude, crude, or just plain annoying. :) I just call 'em as I see em.
I have an update for the 9th, but, none for the 10th. This is the first glictch I've noticed in months.

Hi Sandy!
Stats from the 10th have not been generated yet.
Stats are not processed till about midnight CST. Check shortly after then for ya stats from the 10th. :)
Hopefully then ya'll see them. If not, shoot an e-mail off to support@powweb.com and let them know.
:) Good luck! :)

RadioRob you can also put me on ignore if you do not like my posts. You want to defend them then you have to take the good with the bad. You said this is not an official channel of support and I showed you that they claim that this is.
I would appreciate it if Powweb would respond. Why is that too much to ask? I made a financial transaction with this company and you do not speak for them.
Let me clarify what I meant. The last update to my webstats was July 9 at ~0015 PDT. There should have been an update this morning, July 10 at ~ 0015 PDT.
Up until today, I have always has an update posted a little after midnight (once they went to a 24 hour update).
Hope that clarifies the situation.

Hi Sandy and Bob... Both of your site's stats stopped working yesterday.
Thanks Michigan. The question now is:
(1) will there be an "immaculate" restart?
(2) will I have to turn stats off and then wait and turn it back on?
Time will tell...

I'd be happy to take the good with the bad. :) If you saw from one of the other threads, I did not have stats updated for my site either for the 9th.
BUT... I know there is not a lot that can be done about it here on the boards. The easiest thing was just to send an e-mail to support@powweb.com and let them know what's going on. That opens a trouble ticket, and from there they work with me to resolve the problem.
If you would read the descriptions carefully on the site that describes the types of support they offer, you will see: Talk to other PowWeb customers. You can view and post questions about anything. This is a great place to get answers about our services and communicate with other webmasters. It says nothing there about this being a way for you to contact PowWeb's technical support itself. It is simply giving you a way to ask other CUSTOMERS about questions they might know the answer to. The most common ones being things like how do I do this, or what does this error mean?
If you want to recieve "real official" help... read further down... you will see under Contact Technical Support:Simply fill out a request ticket and one of our knowlegable support techs will get right back to you. You can also call for technical support at (310) 278-8926 (9am-5pm PST).
I've said this in many of my posts... I do not officially speak for PowWeb. As I said... I just call em as I see em. Again... if you really want an OFFICIAL responce, e-mail support@powweb.com, use the online form available on the page mentioned earlier, or even call them.
These boards are a COMMUNITY board. Not an official support board.
I wish you luck with getting your stats problem solved!!
If there is anything else that the community members might be able to answer, let us know! We're usually always around. lol

I did email, getting ignored there too.
What is your policy on that?
I merely made a statement and you do not have to cut and paste everything on the site. It will solve nothing at all.
I simply asked you not to respond as you are not the one I sent my money to. You do not have the answer, you do not have the solution.
Why is that hard to understand?
I run a business and I speak with my customers. It is the professional way of doing business. I do not allow people who have no stake in my company to speak for me.

Bob,
Thank you for taking the time to explain the support system to us. The stats problem has been acknowledged by PW and they promised 2 weeks ago to keep us updated (on the board) about their progess see this thread http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5595
All I've seen so far are posts from concerned potential and current customers about the reliability of PWs stats and a recent incident of the problem. Why would PW support want us all to email them about a problem they already know they have, have told us they are working, and are asking for our patience with?

I run a business and I speak with my customers. It is the professional way of doing business. I do not allow people who have no stake in my company to speak for me. This board is not for Admins to interact with their customers. It's a board for customers to interact with EACH OTHER.
I have never once said I speak for PowWeb. I simply respond to a post thats posted to the COMMUNITY board. I'm sorry if you think I'm trying to speak for them.
In the interest of saving Starr from going crazy tomorrow when he reads the thread, I'm going to quit replying to this string. I don't want to result in it being closed for constant arguing.
We have both made our points. We both disagree. But thats cool. :) Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion. Prisoner, I wish you the best of luck in getting your problem fixed. Hopefully we'll all see our site stats ran again shortly after midnight tonight.
My webstats was updated this morning. So, it looks like it was only yesterday morning that the update didn't occur.

Just letting you know that mine ran too.
Until Powweb posts an official policy on this forum I will continue to post problems on this forum.
Powweb uses this forum to make announcements to us and does not email these announcement to us, so I see nothing wrong with posting a specific question to them here.
It would be courteous for people who do not have a solution to a problem to not interfere with the thread. It only adds to the number of posts that the admins have to plow through before they can get to the problem.
Nothing since June. I've turned them off for 24hrs then back on - nothing.....is this something I should report to Powweb?
Thank you

Rdy.... I was not completely sure from your post, so I thought I would throw in a two parter on my answer. ;)
First... when you turned your web stats off for 24 hours and turned them back on, did you wait till the NEXT day to check your stats again? If you just turned them back on and checked them, there would not be any stats there since they are not ran till midnight PST.
BUT... if ya did wait, then yep! This might be a good point to get in touch with support@powweb.com. Ya can also give them a phone call at (310) 278-8926 (9am-5pm PST).
Good luck! Hope ya get the problem worked out.

It worked for him. I would backup my files before trying this.
