View Full Version : Increasing website traffic
I am looking for suggestions to improve the traffic on my website, Ricksta.net. I had already submitted it to countless search engines, but I was wondering if there were any other ways to do this? Any feedback would be appreciated, preferably free suggestions, lol.

Yeah, Global Traffic Trader just went live today. It's a free service which brings traffic to your site. Check it out, it's worth a look.

Good luck!
Another way to promote your site is to join forums across the internet, and always include your site with a brief description in your Signature line. But make good post and your link will be given more credibility!
Good Luck.

If you're really, really desperate, you can post your link at

Just make sure you put http:// before the www when you submit it. :)

Simple. The #1 way to increase traffic? Good content. Message boards, Software downloads, and other things are great ways to attract visitors, and to keep them coming back. All these link exchanges and search engine submittals are only good for increasing hits to your splashpage. It's what's IN your site that generates traffic.
Think about it this way. What's the first thing you do when you turn on your computer? When you connect to the internet? What website do you visit most often? Why? What do they have that you don't, content wise? What kind of visitors do YOU want, and if you figure that out, what do THEY want when they visit?
Good Luck!
I currently generate an average of about 1600 visits (not hits) per day at my site free. You can also with the traffic resources i have at my site. They are the same resources I use to generate my traffic at:

Good Luck!
I signed up on GTT and after authorizing my account, thats as far as I could go. It shows my account on pause, or something like that so I tried to send a trouble ticket and they said my user name was not registered. I went back to my profile and signed in and my user name was ok so I have a program that I can't use.
So I went to the extreme clicks page and my mind was boggled at the number of things there. I don't know where to begin.
Any suggestions?
Hey Laffe,
I went to your leadrus site and got an error message, site not found.
So I went to your other site and you don't give too much info about what kind of leads these are, targeted or not, nor how long it would take to send out to the leads. You mention a pop up ad but you should give us an example of what one looks like.
But anyway, I figured what the heck, let me try 1,000 for $7.95.
I clicked on order and nothing happened. So I aborted that and clicked on about us and nothing happened.
You can't sell many leads that way!
I am new to this whole marketing and getting more hits things and I am a little confused on some things. How do these site make you money...I am not selling anything on my site so how can I profit form this? Or am I way off base and totally missing something?

Beside using gateways and special keywords in meta tag, consider using [ <meta name="revisit-after" content="7 days"> ] to make search engines check your page again if it's been updated.
I used many different methods to get better listings in search engines;
- More resources
- Rename page title(s) every 2 weeks or so
- Change (order of keywords) in the Meta tags (on monthly bases)
- Main page - Use fewer keywords in [<Meta name="KeyWords" content="word1, word2, word3”]
- Update all your gateway-pages (on monthly bases) use more keywords in Meta name.
- Use several pages instead of one long page. (Make your visitors click from one page to another to complete registration/contact/article/download/submit/whatever.)
Things to avoid:
Companies that offer to direct traffic to your site, which you can buy based on number of visits.
a. In some cases, your site will end up popping up on sites that are not even remotely related to your site.
b. In Most cases your site will open in a hidden window (it generates a visit – but user did not see anything)
c. The use of “time- controlled” (Hidden Windows) on many sites is very common. Ever been to a site and you see a window pop up then disappears in a second? Or a window tab is showing in the tabs section but when you click it, no page appears?
d. Other sites refresh their page – while you browsing - every 1 minute to display different banners and get the most impression out of the same visitor (If you bought ‘raw visits’ – you got duplicates right there)
e. There are million of game sites online (And most of these Traffic generating companies pop-up your site there) based on experience, it’s totally useless and a waste of money.
Exchange links with sites related to yours (meaning sites you appreciate). Send an e-mail to the webmaster, express interest/appreciation in their site and ask if they would consider exchanging links, in most cases they will.
Never exchange links with a site that are RANKED lower then your site. The more information your site offers, the more chances it's going to appear in search engine under different words. The more you update your site the more chances people will return. There are many ranking programs online you can use to know where your site is ranks.
