Does anyone suggest a DVD program that intergrates with Adobe Premier 6.5, Windows XP? I am converting my WMV videos to DVD so I can add menu buttons for various sports and activities. The book I am using, Sams Teach Yourself suggests using Sonic DVDit. I have Sonic Burn CD's and DVD's with. Is that compatible, or what can anyone suggest? Thanks. Allen

Microsoft Windows Media Player v10.0
Microsoft's DVD player and CD burner is for Windows XP users only.

Windows Movie Maker 2 is an XP-only download
Search for a few free programs and try them yourself to see which work that you like.

Thanks for the reply. I do have Windows Movie Maker. Have you ever imported into the collections and then produced a DVD format from those collections? If so, can you just get me started on how to change the finished format to DVD. I am familiar in taking the MPEG-1 and importing into Movie Maker to produce a WMV format, but never a DVD format. Thanks. Allen

First, use Windows Movie Maker 2 to create your home movie. Once you're done, you can use a third-party program such as MyDVD to burn a DVD.

Can I use a third-party program such as MyDvD to burn a DVD if I create the video in Adobe Premier 6.5 which I know fairly well?

Yes.

Windows users can export MPEG2 files using the new Adobe MPEG Encoder and then use the bundled version of DVDit! LE to author DVDs.

Yes.

Yes, that is correct. I need to find out how to download the lastes version of the mpeg decoder as I do not have the mpeg-2 which is bundled with the DVDit. Are you familiar with downloading the decoder?

Thanks for the free link. However, after searching, I did not find the link for Adobe Premier 6.5 for Windows XP, which uses DVDit.

I couldn't find any FREE codecs for mpeg2. I saw some cracks for you to use paid codecs for free. ;) That is not recommended.
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Video_DVD_Maker
Video DVD Maker is a freeware tool to create DVDs in 3 clicks. 1. Capture from any video devices (DV camera, web camera, TV turner, etc). 2. Import from any video files (AVI, DIVX, XVID, MP4, MPG, WMV, ASF, MOV, etc). 3. Burning on any type of medium(CD R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD DL, etc).
Hmm.... You may want to think about alternate ways to get the same results.

Yes, I would see alternate ways to get the same results. I will have to contact Adobe and find out how to download and interegrate with my Premier. Thank you.

I thought the links may give you ideas. You may want to post here to let us know what you choose to do. This post may help others who decide to do the same thing. It is amazing how if you choose to use mpeg2, you have to PAY for a codec. That is shameful.
