View Full Version : Solution to get stats working...

Ok, I think I have found a solution to get the stats working for everyone, or at least it worked for me.

Hopefully this will work for everyone else, also.

Just simply go to your webstats folder under htdocs and delete everything there.

When the stats are regenerated, all of the old files will come back and you won't have lost anything for the previous months, either.

July should start working, also.

This sounds hopeful.....forgive the truely ignorant, but where would I find htdocs?

Using your favorite FTP program, open up your site. You will see a list of folders in there.... CGI-BIN, htdocs, Etc, and logs. Double click on htdocs folder, and in there you will find the webstats folder where your stats are kept. :)

Ok I did that, so I'll turn webstats on again and they should regenerate after midnight....

I did as suggested and I get this at my webstats page

Index of /webstats
Parent Directory

(Just this, nothing else on the page)

you have to wait for the stats to regenerate.

you don't need to touch your control panel, so just keeps the stats enabled and just delete them.

no need to disable stats why you are doing this.

Yes, I had them disabled because I was following plan A for the 2nd time.
(turn them off for 24hrs then back on - which doesn't work btw)
Still nothing, after 12.00 pst - except as I posted below,

Still shows, nothing else. I think I quit on this, I don't understand this stuff and its just frustrating me to the point of bailing.

Webstats only regenerate at Midnight (00:00) PDT.

Stats are back - but suspect figures.........June hits have dropped from 12000 to 588, and July hits are off the scale.

But hey, it may stabilize.
