Did you look at the forum for CMS???? I'm not a betting man but I would put big money on there being at least one thread just like this one floating around there......

As I mentioned many times before, there is no single best solution.
Every solution has advantages and disadvantages. Depending on what you are after, your solution will be different.
Many people have installed a CMS and are quite happy to recommend that to you. If you ask 10 people you get 10 answers.
I run my websites on Drupal and I believe it is one of the best CMS out there, but thats because I have only tried PHP-Nuke, PHPFusion, Mambo, Joomla so far and liked Drupal better.
As I said, thats just me and others are likely to disagree.

have a look at OpenSourceCMS (http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.php) They allow you to test drive a number of CMS on their site so no worries about screwing anything Up... Have a look at E107 :D I think e107 is one of the better CMS's out there, But like agunther I agree that each kind of has it's ups and downs. The site link I posted abouve will allow you to play with them and figure out for yourself what you preffer.

Yup, Opensourcecms.com is a good start.
To compare features I recommend checking out http://www.cmsmatrix.org/. There you can put the features of each cms next to each other in a table and narrow down your choices.
