I'm trying to get a site going...its from a template, and I've been able to get all the logos and text going in Flash. Here's the site...

www.teamblueline.com

My web guy is out of town for a while, and I'm trying to get this going ASAP as an online portfolio if anything else. I don't know flash well enough to make this happen from within...here's what I'm doing. Should be easy.

The three links under 'current clients' work... it was pretty easy to figure out, it was a "on release, goURL" type of thing to open the link in a new window. I want to get all the portfolio buttons to open a new page which is basically just going to be one big JPEG pageshowing our work for every button. I know I need HTML 101, but I'm having trouble doing this.

-Where do I link to? Directly to my FTP?

-In PS/Imageready, I save out an image and an html page and put them into my FTP. Is this right?

-what would the code be to have a WMV movie open (by itself is OK without being on a page), where the WMV file would be in my FTP?

thanks... out of his league in San Diego

you would just link directly to those files eg. www.yoursite.com/your_image_folder/image.jpg or html or wma. just use the get url command with the actual path. you can open a jpeg in a browser w/out a page, but for media, you'll need to embed else you will force visitors to download to view. also kill the sound on your plash screen.

ok, I'll give it a shot. So the link would be http://mysite.com/htdocs/mypic.jpg ?

OK, sounds good.

Whats with the splash screen music? You can turn sound on/off...

Ok, folks... I'm confused.

I want a button to have a link to basically a big picture that will open in a new window. It's on a portfolio page, so I want a little thumbnail icon to open into a big pic.

www.teamblueline.com

The flash script is like "on release, GetURL "http://mysite.com/myfolder/mypic.jpg"

the picture is in the ftp... but I don't link directly to it, do I? The link isn't going to be
"https://webftp.powweb.com/download.cgi?filename=aboutus.jpg", which is what you get when you right-click the file and look at properties when in the FTP...is it?

I even tried saving it in Imageready with an .html file that links to it...but no luck.

When I link to the FTP, the browser acts as if I'm downloading something. I know I'm hack at web... but this seems like something very simple that I'm overlooking.

where are you uploading the image, give me the location from htdocs on down. if it is htdocs/images/image.jpg then your link would be yoursite.com/images/image.jpg

as for the music, it just startled me a bit, was up late last night, had the volume up, but no music playing and when i got to yer site the music started blaring, try using something a bit more ambient, or that starts at a low volume and then builds slowly.
