Restore back-up

I was trying to make some changes to my website and completely botched the whole thing up. Now I can't access the website nor the admin (I am using OsCommerce).

Anyway, I downloaded the phpmyadmin backup but when I tried to upload it to restore, it said it was the wrong file type. It has gz at the end, so I do not understand what is wrong. I saw the mini upload thing up it might as well be in sanskrit.

Can a kind soul please assist me in restoring my website so I don't have to reload the entire thing?

You need to download Winrar, or Winzip - Decompress the backup file you downloaded - When you do this, you will see the file has changed to a ".dmp" - change that to ".sql" - then import the .sql file thorugh Powweb - I hope this helps -
