View Full Version : Problems With Swf Files
Im not sure if someone else has this problem but I created a SWF for my video I made for a high school. I viewed it and uploaded it onto the server and it works fine. But when I made a second SWF file for and animation render I did it works fine but once I upload it onto the server it doesnt work. Hasnt anyone have this problem or know how to fix it. Im puzzled because I did the exact same thing as the first file.

some ideas:
- assuming both swf's are similar in function, start by checking and comparing your html sources (before and after)
- are you doing any loadMovie()'s and are conflicting with any domain-same-as-swf rules?
Could you be more specific-- maybe even provide a url or two?
yeah....the first vid is:
http://www.janddproduction.com/video/argus_video.html
the one that isnt working is:
http://www.janddproduction.com/video/superman_cape.html

I suspect it has to do with the browser not knowing what exactly to associate the .mov with. Try putting more info in the player wrapper html based on this w3schools tutorial on quicktime (http://www.w3schools.com/media/media_quicktime.asp).
What's more:
- The .mov referenced directly (without the html) came up just fine.
- neither the swf (Argus_Vid.swf) nor the wrapper html pulled up the swf for me. Is the swf just a container to dynamically pull in your flv? If so, you might post your actionscript here for review..
Yeah sorry about that, I went ahead and put a .mov file instead. I got fustrated with the swf file. I still need to have the swf file to work. because other videos that Im going to put are going to be bigger and longer.
