This is weird - my db isn't that large and yet its been a few minutes since I asked phpmyadmin to export it to a zip file so I can backup my db!?!?

This happened to me last week - it was taking forever so gave up and now I'm worrying because I don't have a recent db backup :(

Are you downloading the backups that are dbname.dmp.gz that are available through OPS? It is NOT a zip file, but it is a compressed file. On which server does your database reside?

nope - for some reason the auto-dumps were empty for the past three files made by powweb and so I just exported my db from phpmyadmin.

I was using mysql05.powweb.com but am testing things on a brand new db at mysql19 as I type - hopefully it will work, otherwise I might have to roll up the sleeves and break the tables up and just import a gajjilion files seperately.

This may help on dumping a file:
