My domain name is wickedwebsdesign.com and I have a total of three packages there. One is my own, one is for Greatlakesservices.com and the last one is letterslinesdesigns.com

letterslinesdesigns was online with their own account untill April when they let their site lapse by mistake. I have re-built it and am ready to put it online but this time, I wanted it added to my own account where I can keep track of it. So far, so good.

The problem is that for whatever reason, the billing shows the site as active but in packages, it shows it as still disabled. I can't upload the site. I get an error message that says there is no server at http://www.letterslinesdesigns.com

I've called about this twice and was hoping someone from PowWeb was hanging around here and could look into it for me so I don't have to call again

Thanks!

An email to billing@powweb.com should have been able to get this cleared up.

It’s fixed now.

I appreciate your help, thank you very much.

Yes, email often works very, very well except that in this case the customer had one day (tomorrow) to see his site. He doesn't have a computer (can you IMAGINE?!) so time was an issue.

Email works well but not usually within that time frame.

Thanks again

You can also give them a phone call first thing tomorrow morning (after 9 am PST). Their phone number is (310) 278-8926.

Good luck! :)

Starr,

I went back and tried to publish again but still got the server error. I am using Frontpage so I went into the package, uninstalled and reinstalled the FP server extensions and then tried again. I got the same server error. I also checked the settings on my end and they seem fine. Same as the rest of the webs I've published.

I've got one more piece of the puzzle and that is a message I got on my end which said there was "no folder at letterslinesdesigns.com" whatever that means.

If you have any ideas, I'd sure be willing to give them a try.

Try it now; I had your FP extensions manually reinstalled.

Starr,

Its still not working. I'm going to keep working on my end too because the error message pops up almost immediately after I try to publish. Seems like it wouldn't be that quick if it was really trying to connect to you...

does that seem logical?

I went into the files and deleted then re-typed everything while trying to publish but that didn't do anything. I also went into my own webpage (wickedwebsdesign.com) and uploaded to my site without any problems.

I'm still getting the server error and that message that says the folder at http://letterslinesdesigns.com no longer exists.

I'm going to go to bed now.. brain is straining too late into the night. If you have any ideas, I'll check back here in the morning or wait for powweb offices to open.

Thanks for trying.

Can you FTP to your server and view the files there? I'd be interested to see if all your directory structure is in place.

I don't like to ftp a Frontpage site. Everytime I do that, I mess up any component I might have used and it also corrupts the extensions.

I've got a photo album in this particular site and a FP hit counter. I don't care about losing the counter but that album is a major part of the site.

I finally gave up and tried to ftp. No luck. I get a "failed to connect to letterslinesdesigns as (username)" error.

The folders in my web are:
_derived
_overlay
_private
_vti_cnf
_vti_pvt
_images
_photogallery

One other clue that might help figure this out is that in the port setting in ftp, I have entered 21. Once I have tried to connect and it fails, that field says "21" and also has some symbols after it.

Again, I will be happy to try any idea that is suggested.

Tena, I think the problem may be you're confusing the username/password combo for these additional packages you've created under your 'main' package. Each one should have their own username and password. If you would, please, log into your Ops area and open the package for the site you're trying to log into. In the package area it should show you the server paths toward the bottom of the page. Copy and paste them into an email and send it to me at:

webmaster@simcoweb.com

Or, if you don't mind, send me the login info to your Ops center so I can have a look.

Thanks for the reply. An email is on its way to you as I type.
