hi

I have a question.. Im trying to help someone who is looking for a new host, and before she moves she needs to back up her Viper Guestbook mysql database, but the host she is with now uses cPanel or Fantastico or something, and she cant see where or how to back the guestbook up. she has access to phpmyadmin apparently, but isnt confident with it.

does anyone know if its possible to back the gbook up via the script? I know powweb offers viper gbook in their insta-install thingo, so thought someone might be using it and knows. I tried to find out more info on it via google, but it only seem to pull up fantastico sites and the "official" viper gbook site seems to no longer exsist.

or does anyone know how to back it up via phpmyadmin? would she just choose the default options and export?

can anyone help?

I haven't used viper guest books yet, but with phpmyadmin, you can do a mysql dump, which will retain all the information, as it is on the database, onto a file. As to how to import it back into a different guest book system... that might be a bit different.... you might need someone to manuall import it back in.
