View Full Version : How to access database structure?
I'd like to use an external editor such as SQLyog to administer my database, but after poking around, I see I am limited to using phpMyAdmin to do this. When I try to use that from the MySQL page in OPS, I get a 403:Forbidden error. Do I need to request special permission to access phpMyAdmin?

You need a database first.
Get one through Member Ops - note the server it gets created on (mysql##.powweb.com).
You supply Database Name, username(s) and password
I already have a database which I created via the MySQL tool in OPS. I also have a couple DBs from the instant installers as well. I can't access those either.
Edit: The error wasn't that I wasn't able to access a database, I was getting a blank page with "403: forbidden You do not have permission to access "/" on this server" or something like that.
you may want to talk to support about that. If you're certain you're logging into the right mysql server with the proper username/password, I could only seeing it as being a server side issue.

I agree - send a trouble ticket.
What server is it? I'll move this to Outages/Server Problems and maybe someone else will have noticed same problem.
It seems to be working now. Was phpMyAdmin recently upgraded?
Yeah, it was. I was surprised with it this morning too (and I work here >.<). The admins must have snuck it in sometime this morning. ^^b
