It seems as though NetScape 6.2 and Modzilla 1.0 have the ability to initiate PC applications based on information provided through Edit:Preferences:Navigation:Helper Applications then specifying file suffix(s) MIME Type and the PC URL of the application which is selected by browsing (that establishes the PC URL for subsequent references). I'm trying to get native PowerPoint presentations downloaded and rendered from the internet to client side PCs, which is done just fine with IE6 but I can not get NetScape 6.2 or Modzilla 1.0 to use the "Helper Application" information I have provided these respective browsers. I use pot, pps, ppt, ppz, ppa, and pwz as file suffixes and application/vnd.ms-powerpoint\ as the MIME Type (I've also tried application/mspowerpoint). Any suggestions where I've gone wrong here or does the "Helper Applications" function follow previous NetScape function history. "It works with Quick Time" but that all (rotflmao)!

Previously I used pot, ppt, pps, etc, as the "Helper Application" supported suffixes. That should have been .pot, .ppt, .pps, .ect. There may be more than one correct MIME Type but application/vnd.ms-powerpoint works for my versions of NetScape 6.2.3.1 and Modzella 1.0.
