I have a downloadable zipped products available in my osCommerce store that is going on sale TODAY and when I download them it gives me an error " The compressed (Zipped) folder is invalid or corrupt." I have tried "saving file as" to desktop, and opening directly upon download and neither option works. Also, I went to control pannel, folder options/file types/ and checked that the zip file had confirm open after download checked. Any suggestions? I am using Windows XP.
Thanks.

Have you tried other decompression tools? WinZip etc - you may find they work.

I have personally experienced that problem and agree with IanS. Try opening the zipped file with another utility. I suspect that you already tried to redownload the zipped file in case it was corrupted during downloading.

Yes, I downloaded Winzip, tried zipping the files and uploaded to my store, then after downloading it gives me the same error. But it only happens with Windows XP. Since posting this, I've had 2 customers who use XP tell me they are getting the same error. I don't know what to do. It's not going to sound good to have to explain to my customer that well they need to download XYZ zipp program to open the file. I tried it on Windows 2000 and it works.

It sounds as if it's not being downloaded correctly as it's working on W2K. What method are you using to download?

Thanks IanS and Yvette.
IanS, the method I use is when I purcase a file in my osCommerce store, It provides a download link and button. I have tried opening file, and saving file to desktop. Both ways give me the same error. After downloading, I have tried clicking on the zip folder and right clicking on the zipped folder and choosing extract all, etc.. I have even tried changing the permission of the file in my store. Every way gives me the same error.

However, I tried placing the file in a seperate folder in htdocs other than the folder that is set up for downloadable files through my oscommerce store, and it works fine! It only does not work when someone downloads it through the store with XP. So, apparently it has something to do with the way my e-store works with XP users downloading zip files.
It's confusing. I'll try searching through oscommerce forums some more.
Thanks.

p.s. if you would like to try it yourself, send me a message and I'll set an account up for you to download it.

Thanks

Okay, that is weird. Search or ask someone on the OS Commerce forum and hope someone there can help you. Good luck!
