Okay, my domain renewal date is 4/28/06 and I have it set for auto renewal. As of today my site is down. Is there a time lag for the renewal or did I do somthing wrong. Any help would be great it would be nice to get my site back up.

We don't offer auto-renew for domain registrations; only web hosting packages. You'll need to go to the Domains tab in OPS and renew the domain. Make sure you submit payment as well.
Maybe powweb should specify that the domain is not auto renewed, although to some of us it is obvious their are a few people who's site has gone down for this reason, it would only take a line of text next to the auto renew option to make it clear.
Many don't keep their registration within OPS, and they go to registrars that do renew like GoDaddy and RegisterFly.

Auto-renewing domain names is in the works for the transition.
my site (www.stcqc82.org) is down. I password protected a directory last night and it was working when I logged off. when I checked this morning it was down. I checked my files and they're all there but a .htaccess file was at the root directory besides the directory I password protected. could this have caused the problem?
ail_b, your site is loading fine for me right now.
When you password protect a directory the .htaccess file needs to be placed into the directory that you are trying to protect. The .htpasswd file should be placed at the root level, same level as your htdocs and cgi-bin directories.
thanks jack, but I still keep getting message below :(
my other sites hosted by powweb are working fine though.
The connection has timed out
The server at www.stcqc82.org is taking too long to respond.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Works fine from this coast.
Fast here in Europe. It seem it may be a routing delay as everyone else seems to be satisfied with the speed.
If you do a tracert you'll see the bottleneck.
thanks steve, doc and ian,
the problem was my ISP, particularly my account. it's doing some kind of selective browsing. thanks again.
