Site Problems?

I have been having alot of problems with my site for the past 6 months or more but the last 2 days have been really bad in terms of the site being unresponsive or taking up to 5 minutes to load up.
I believe I am on Cluster07 unless they changed it and I am not aware of what server I am on currently.
I've sent a trouble ticket yesterday but later in the day when I recieved a response the site was working fine but around 12:10pm EST today the site would not load again.

Argh!

Are there are planned server outtages that I am not aware of?
Others that have visited the site have also said that the site was very slow before so I know its not on my end.

None have been announced at this point. It helps for you to give the URL of the site and others can check from around the world to give a better picture of the potential causes of the problems.

You might like to try using smaller (byte wise) images which would give quicker loading.
whirlyball.org loaded much, much quicker than the postnuke link above.

Yes now it is working well. The response time of 5.8211 seconds is the norm but there are many many days that it will take up to 5 minutes for the site to load up and some of the .gif and or pictures will not even load up at all unless you let it hang there for a longer period of time.
Right after the initial 5 or so seconds the site pops right up and loads in a instant but right now is not what I have been having issues with.
I wish this was just a once in a blue moon problem but it is not.
Most of the day yesterday and from around noon until just after 1pm was very bad.

As far as the byte size of the pictures or logos I have never had issues with it loading up when the servers are running normally so its not a issue with them.
Maybe it could be problems with lag in the lines outside the Powweb servers, who knows. All I know is that it gets frustrating to say the least.

A front page image of 59K (approx.) is slow on a dial-up connection. Not everyone has a fast connection.

Doing a ping resulted in a 54ms time for the whirlyball.org site.
One of my other sites has a 23ms ping time. (not powweb servers)
and a site that I have had for 8 years has a 2.5ms ping time. (not powweb servers)
