Hey everyone,

TOTAL newbie, but a problem I have never had with any other web space. I am trying to get the feel for this and I uploaded some files to the ftp. I provided links for my friends and they worked just fine. I uploaded some others, provided the links (ps, by highlighting the file, "copy shortcut" and pasting) and now it says you are dling a file but on the computer next to the file the size is 0kb.

OK, I tried then to do a little web page with the links with TWO different web builder programs and BOTH of them it was the same thing...as long as the page was UNPUBLISHED I could download the file, but the MOMENT the page was published the same thing happened. You right-clicked, save-as, and then for a split second you saw what looked like a download and then nothing, and there on your computer WAS the NAME of the file, but 0kb.

Can anyone help? I am totally new to all of this. But EVERY other web space I have ever had you uploaded the file to ftp, once it was there copied the shortcut, and then pasted it in a letter, on a website, whatever, and they right-clicked and downloaded the picture, video, document, whatever.

Please help.

You're right in your methods - so you're missing something in the explanation or information you're providing. Try uploading a small text file and pasting a link here, and others can see the problem.
