How do you setup a ftp. I would like to set it up so people can download things off my site. What would the address be? And also how do you view the ftp site?
Sorry but I am dumb when it comes to this stuff.
PS I tried to set one up at the ops page but I do not understand it. Please Help

If you want to allow people to download items from your site, unless you KNOW them personally, I wouldn't give them FTP access. If you do know them then ok. But it's a hugh security risk since they'd have access to everything on your server.
Another way is to utilize a 'download' program using a Perl script. It would provide a 'list' of the downloadable items, they select which one they want, and it protects the source of the file since it doesn't give direct access to your site.
The files for download are place in a 'directory' on your host. They come to your site and are presented with a page featuring the downloadable items. They complete a simple form and the item automatically starts to download. Using this method you can also track how many times an item has been downloaded as well as tracking the IP addresses it was requested from.
