View Full Version : Site not displaying
Hi,
This is what I get when I visit your site:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/home/powweb/web/cgi-bin/php5 on line 6945
It looks like your site has been broken (after the migration).
No real surprise, it looks like everyones site was broken in some
way after the migration.
It took me over 15 hours to find and fix my perl/cgi errors.

Could you give me the url where you are getting this error?

I migrated over a dozen websites today alone! I barely had any problems. One old tellafriend.cgi script written by someone else did not work and can easily be replaced. Sites had cgi shopping carts, php/mysql, secure URL, custom php.ini, additional domain names and subdomains and many different scripts of many languages. Most of the scripts were customized by my programmers or myself. I saved the most complicated websites for last, e-commerce sites with large databases, but they didn't have many issues, either.
We did not use site builders or PowWeb installed open source scripts. Those seem to have the problems. Did you have old scripts or did you choose manual migration? I chose automatic migration, reviewed the errors and flipped the dns. There were a few reported errors before the flip that were not actually errors. The cgi scripts referred to ip addresses and/or domain names to prevent abuse. So, they actually did what they should do.
I am wondering if you "fixed" something that didn't really need fixing. Or you fixed something yourself that could have been fixed by support's search script to find and replace the cgi path.
