Is FFMPEG and NetPBM installed on the new platform? If not, what is an acceptable method for me to make available for my own use (although I'm sure others would like it too)?

This is for a Gallery2 installation...

Can anyone from endurance answer this?

Hi,

Do you mean: Will we support it? Are these applications?

FFMPEG -> http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/

Used in Gallery to to generate thumbnails for Video objects. Native platform code with shared library objects.

Netpbm -> http://netpbm.sourceforge.net/

Graphics manipulation binaries, also native platform code that was available on the old platform, and better performance wise when it comes to thumbnail generation.

In short, if we can no longer have binaries that are on the platform, will some that are commonly used by customers be made available? Especially if they are available in the form of RedHat packages (like Netpbm)?

Or.... Are they already on the platform (since I don't have the ability to do `find / -name netpbm`)?

Unfortunately, I'm not technical enough to understand whether or not we have these installed.

I'll try to flag down someone as they drive by to see if they can assist.

Great, cause I asked this same question to support via a live chat session (not the IRC channel), and was told I would receive an e-mail. However, no ticket was opened up....

My best suggestion is to open up a ticket by logging into OPS. That way you can track progress.

It appears I won't be able to get anyone on this until tomorrow.
