I get an Internal Server error (500) when I want to go to my site. Now I have been fiddling around with the .htmaccess, so it might be my own mistake, but before I drive myzelf crazy, is anyone else experiencing problems accessing his or her website?

Cheers,

Hans

It very likely is your .htaccess fiddling. Easy enough to test - rename .htaccess to something else and see if the site comes up. My PHP site on the new platform works fine.

Thanks Steve. This morning (at least over here) I changed the htaccess file, like suggested in the htaccess forum by cc1030, and everything works fine now.

Still there probably was a hick up yesterday, for I tried once without htaccess file (fully deleted it) and my site was extremely slow. No 500 error, but pictures wouldn't load and text (just a few lines) loaded in no less than 16.84 seconds. But as everything works fine now, You won't hear me complaining....

I only wonder whether PowWeb shouldn't warn all its clients about the change they made to htaccess about directory browsing. I had that disabled, of course, but after migration it was enabled. Especially since cgi-bin was moved into htdocs all surfers can look into that particular directory, which actually gives me the shivers....

Except for a few small details, the migration went smoothly and I think speed is better than it used to be. FTP even works differently, have you noticed? Uploading is extremely fast, even for bigger files. But the response to a DIR command takes longer than it used to do. Weird, this. But as it is faster overall I don't complain....

Cheers,

Hans
