Just started getting this on one of my two phpbb2 forums, the one with the error has had no changes today at all, and is a pointer domain.

Anyone else seen this or know what the problem is? Tried to open a ticket, but could only find live chat, which I hate with a passion.

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1030 Got error 12 from storage engine

SELECT t.topic_id, t.topic_title, t.topic_last_post_id, t.forum_id, p.post_id, p.poster_id, p.post_time, u.user_id, u.username FROM phpbb_topics AS t, phpbb_posts AS p, phpbb_users AS u WHERE t.forum_id NOT IN ('start') AND t.topic_status <> 2 AND p.post_id = t.topic_last_post_id AND p.poster_id = u.user_id ORDER BY p.post_id DESC LIMIT 11

I suddenly started getting the same error a short time ago on my forum. A little quick research shows it likely is due to the SQL server having a disk space issue, but then I know little about it. My forum gets very little use.

Thanks for the reply Rob, now that I know others are having the same problem I'll wait and see how long it will take to be fixed. I did leave a feedback with the problem information, don't know if that will go anywhere or not.

I have this problem too. Glad to know it's not just me, because I know I can't troubleshoot it on my own.

I have the same problem also and I wasted all day researching the issue till I found out that this is a powweb issue either SQL hardware or database space issue!

I opened a trouble ticket, and I'm very much frustrated because my board has heavy traffic and I'm already flooded with emails from users!

Third post in a row. I know I must be getting annoying but powweb hasn't been at it's best either with their sql servers today. Is anyone else still getting random SQL errors/timeouts or is it just me?

I'm still getting the error on and off, the pages will load fine, then the error happens, then everything is fine again.

This is getting just too much!

I think it's about time to look for a new host! After four years of excellent service it's sad to see that this is what ha sbecome of powweb!

It's like a tradition I guess [the same time of the year last year]. The last time I shifted from powweb was also because of SQL issues.. and I thought that they'd have improved by now :/.

I am having this same issue on my forum, too. http://zimfamilycockers.com/Forums/

Sometimes my forum will work, sometimes I get the error. It seems random. My users are very frustrated, and so am I!

It's now been going on for 36 hours, and it's still not resolved. I have spoken to PowWeb about it twice. All they are willing to say is that the help ticket has been assigned to a level 2 tech. The person I talked to on the phone was not even aware that anyone else but me was experiencing the same problem. I suggested he look at the My SQL forum.

It would be really nice if someone from PowWeb would at least acknowledge the problem here on this forum, or in the Outages section. At this point, it just feels like we're talking to ourselves about this... and that we're being left to hang out and dry.

Mine is down with same error again as well. Going down repeatedly with no outage posts by staff to explain what's going on is really not acceptable. I understood that was what the announcements and outages area is for. I've been here for 3 years and have been very happy, but my package comes up for renewal soon and perhaps I should start shopping around as well. If this continues it's going to become very unacceptable.

I've been trying to contact support on and off the last few days with no luck. I'm already shopping around for another provider. this is unacceptable.

Yup, my site is down again with the same error..

I miss the old powweb, I never had problems that lasted this long with them.

Both my sites are down on mysql02 now. And the problem ticket says someone will get back to me in the next two business days.

Same error. They sent me an email asking for my username and password (didn't specify if they wanted OPS, mysql, email, or maybe my bank account). :(

got a reply to my ticket, they said all is fixed, so far it looks good.

Thank you.

They replied to my ticket, too. They say it "was a minor issue with our database server which has been resolved now."

It may have been minor to them, but it knocked quite a few forums off line for the better part of two days, as anyone can see from reading the frustrated posts in this thread. I'm glad that they fixed the technical problem... now I just wish they would learn a lesson about good customer service: keep your users informed of what's going on. There's a "Outages / Service Problems" forum for a reason! When something's not working, they should post a message there letting people know they are aware of it and they are working on it. An estimated time of repair would have gone a LONG way towards keeping everyone cool.

Hopefully they'll learn from this (and other frequent) experiences about how to integrate a forum into how they communicate with customers.

I do have to say that I like the results of the repairs they made. My forum has been responding very slowly for quite some time... but since the repair, it has been working exceptionally well. When you click on something, things actually happen promptly now. For a while there, it was real sluggish. It's nice when things work the way they are supposed to!
