Hi..

I have created a database, called wordpressbase, but I have no idea how to work with database, tho.

I am asked for the following settings in a configuration-file from wordpress, a program that makes website updates easy for those who knows litte html.
Here is the file:

<?php
// ** MySQL settings ** //
define('DB_NAME', 'name'); // The name of the database
define('DB_USER', 'user'); // Your MySQL username
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'pass'); // ...and password
define('DB_HOST', ''localhost'); // 99% chance you won't need to change this value

// You can have multiple installations in one database if you give each a unique prefix
$table_prefix = 'wp_'; // Only numbers, letters, and underscores please!

// Change this to localize WordPress. A corresponding MO file for the
// chosen language must be installed to wp-includes/languages.
// For example, install de.mo to wp-includes/languages and set WPLANG to 'de'
// to enable German language support.
define ('WPLANG', '');

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

define('ABSPATH', dirname(__FILE__).'/');
require_once(ABSPATH.'wp-settings.php');
?>

Where exactly do I find these things? Because I used the info I found on My SQL, with my username.. but it doesn't work with that info. I tried contacting powweb, but no reply. I also tried live chat, but the chat doesn't work.

Help? Please?

You have to set up a MySQL user in your OPS first. Create a user name and hard-to-crack password. Then you can edit your config.php and upload it to install WordPress. You don't have to be a McSQL-whiz. Thank goodness!

However, with Powweb, you DO have to edit that line that says "99% chance you won't need to change this...." Because you have to identify which MySQL server you are using (You can find that info in your OPS too).

So, basically:
1. Go to OPS
2. Create a MySQL database through MySQL in OPS.
3. Add a user.
4. Give the user a hard-to-crack password.
5. Note which MySQl server (like MySQL14.powweb.com) you have. (It's just below the database/user you just created in OPS)
6. Edit config.php
7. Upload Config. then follow the WordPress instructions for installing.

I updated the config file with the MySQL server and I'm getting a 500 internal server error when I try to access the install.php file. I'm at a loss to figure out what the problem is. Here's what the CGI error log says:

[Wed Sep 27 21:09:36 2006] [error] (2)No such file or directory: Apache::SubProcess exec of /usr/local/users/pow/... /php/php failed

A 500 error is NOT your error - it's POWWEB's/Endurances. Sadly, it's been happening A LOT lately. Give them a call to get it fixed and report it.
