I know some of you will cringe as soon as you realize I made my website with FrontPage. When I started i had so much that I just wanted to get out there and FrontPage was too easy. it was also free which is a big plus!
Really this is just like an overblown Blog. I have not figured out what, if anything to sell, it is all just about content, and i have a lot of that.
So be nice but give me an honest opinion. I need someone to help me think out of the box...
I also want to graduate from FrontPage to a real html editor but I do not know where to begin.
I am afraid to change my site design tools (FrontPage), and lose stuff which I have put a lot of time into.
Which of the 5 free PowWeb programs should I try?
How does the ftp thing work compare to publishing on FrontPage?
Suggestions please?
Try notepad++ for the editing of various text files like php and html and nvu.com's nvu (free) for publishing.

We all have to learn somehow, I used dreamweaver many years back to learn html but now find myself using editpadpro to make my sites.

I've never touched frontpage or dreamweaver publishing in my life, mainly because in the past one of my friends demanded that I should use ftp instead. :p Here's an article on the subject:

Suggestions:
Remove your e-mail address and use a perl or php e-mail form or a generated image of your e-mail without linking the image to your e-mail. This is just to stop possible spam bots from harvesting your e-mail address.
You can have an e-mail image generated here:
http://www.domaintools.com/domain-privacy/email-protection.html
Add copyright or other information such as "About us" in the footer.
The title is hard to see and find, I barely noticed it till well right after the last thing I wrote :) Make it bigger and maybe center it.
This page http://zenshack.net/filmprojects/ left menu images don't appear.

Thanks for the reply, Not sure what happened to the images on the left of that one page, I had to republish a couple, hopefully they work now.

I saw this option before but was a little confused. DO I use one or the other (image & code) or do i use both?
This is what i get:
<a href="http://www.tyler.dev.nameintel.com/domain-privacy/email-protection.html">
<img src="http://source.dev.nameintel.com/email.pgif?md5=fedef5c2e1c6d55ffe3064b3eca68b17" alt="Email Address" title="Email Protection by Name Intelligence" border="0" />
</a>
as well as an image of my e-mail.
Does it matter where I place the code?

Use the entire code they give you. The link there un-encrypts the e-mail address when someone clicks on the image.
Does it matter where I place the code?
You can place it anywhere.

I must be doing something wrong as I cannot get it to work.
The image is there obviously, and a little white box apears on my page wherever I put the source code. When I publish it there is no link from my e-mail/ picture?
I have tried this in several spots within the code of my webpage with the same results.
I will look at this in more detail at home (when I am not at work he-he)

Can anyone help me with this? As I mentioned above I cannot seem to get this to work.
When I place the generated HTML code in my source code a little white box appears on my webpage and there is no link when I click on the "picture" of my e-mail.
Hmm the last time I tried that service it worked for me. Now I tested it and it doesn't seam to work anymore or they changed something.
Check out this article:

Also you can google, encrypted email address for other programs, scripts etc that will get the job done.

"The simpler option is just an obscured version of the corresponding HTML using ampersand code equivalents to some of the link. A couple of the letters are not converted in the hope that those spam spiders that test for this form of concealment will expect all of the letters to be similarly concealed."
Hi Gorkfu,
I tried that option obove suggested from the link you posted and it works nicely. I will keep searching for other options as well.
Thanks for the tip.

So I've made a few changes as suggested:
-Re-sizing pictures properly and using thumbnails for my icons
-Encrypting my e-mail
-Removing possible copyrighted content (still working on that)
I'm interested in further critiques at this point.
Also one question. With the code I used to encript my e-mail, the font is not consistant:
http://zenshack.net/
Most look like the "CONTACT" link on the bottom of this page (Verdana) which is the font I have used for all my pages.
http://zenshack.net/martialarts/xingyi.htm
Some look like the "CONTACT" on this page (Times Roman). I've tried to fix it myself with no luck.
Any suggestions?
**EDIT: I fixed this, but it was a very noobish cut & paste move, there must be a better way: EDIT**
im using frontpage 2003 too and bud its not free unless you hacked it...
I've gotten Frontpage free before. When I purchased another MS product it was included on the CD for free.

What I meant was that I din't have to pay extra for it, it was bundled with my MS2003 like JJ said
