Ever since I submitted my site using powweb's auto submit feature, I've been getting weekly reports from Internet Seer - "Web site monitoring service."

This looks like marketing spam to me and I've followed the instructions to cancel their "service," but these reports still keep coming.

Anyone else bothered by this Seer?

I get the mailer too, but it's kind of interesting to see what my site's stats are for the week. So far, so good! No downtime at all reported.

I also get the report every week and I like it . I think it is a great service to see what down time your website is having. And it is FREE, that's even better.

I agree that this (Seer) unsolicited, intrusive email is SPAM. If I didn't request it, I don't want it - DUH!

keyplyr,

Have you had any success in trying to cancel the Internet Seer reports?

Yes, they stopped sending their reports. I just used the link provided at the bottom of the report; worked for me at the time, but things may have changed. You may wish to double-check the email addresses.

If you continue to be unsuccessful in your attempts to stop the reports, you could use this service to report them as SPAM: http://spamcop.net/ In fact, I use this (free) service all the time, along with mail filters, to combat SPAM.

Yer, I'm in the same situation. While sometimes it is annoying (and internetseer shows in the webstats which is also annoying) sometimes it is a nice indicator of your website's daily status.
