I'm new to powweb, but I've been setting up webservers for the past 10 years. I am probably missing something simple...how do I upgrade the old version of b2evolution that comes with the "instant" installer? Is this something that can be accomplished by simply ftping new files into my site? The last time I worked with non-windows based systems, doing something like installing software involved telneting into a shell account, then gunzip/tar/make/copile/install. Or else using rpm to install a pre-built package. No shell account here, so none of that. Is it possible to upgrade the software or am I stuck with what powweb has? Sorry, I am just not familiar with php. Are all the scripts in my home directory structure where I can simply replace them or are there things that reside in a powweb-protected cgi-bin? Is there anything on the powweb site that explains the overall approach...for people like me...who are probably making it much too complicated based on too much experience doing server administration for a living.

OK, I RTFM at http://manual.b2evolution.net/Upgrade_from_an_older_version and I guess all I need to do is copy files then hit an auto-installer web page. I will try it out and see if it truly is that simple. The world has gotten easier :)
