Among other things, for those using 800x600, is the scrolling situation acceptable/unacceptable?

I like it. Your choice of colors and font fits the subject. It was easy to get around and see all the information as well.

One possible technical glitch: The photo gallery behaves somewhat ... oddly. At least for me. I clicked on one thumbnail from the "Paws for Reading" category. The picture loaded. When I clicked the browser back button it went back to the main photo page and started reloading all the thumbnails all over again instead of back to the Paws for Reading gallery. Also, I clicked on another picture from another gallery (I think the Thornton Grove thing), the picture loaded, when I clicked the back button I was sent back to the Events page I had been viewing earlier.

Maybe it's just me, though. And I do mean that -- this is on dialup even though the computer is pretty new. I did notice you have the thumbnails loading in the background, so maybe because I didn't let all of them load before I started viewing I caused something weird to happen.

Viewed with WinXP SP2, Firefox 2.0, browser window size 1028x772.

Thanks.

I think the "glitch" is because it's hard to tell you haven't left the page when you click a thumbnail. It loads the fullsize image on the same page, and you just click the image to return to the gallery. I suppose I might have to make the images smaller so this is more apparent.
Here's the script I used for that: http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/

Aaah. :idea3: Not the behavior I was expecting. When everything but the large-size picture disappears I think I'm on a different page and have to click the back button to get back to where I was. Maybe smaller size images will help. Or an instruction that says "click large image to return to gallery" (or words to that effect).

i agree that it looks great, and the choice of fonts and colors is very good. i think the list of supporters is a little too prominent and distracting. I also think the wording of text needs to be tightened up. for example:

"...teaching over 2 million children across the Eastern United States" teaching what?

"It has been found that the kids remember her name and her life saving message over one year later." what is the 'it' referring to? a research study?

Some of the paragraphs seem choppy - like a list of facts. To me, a list of facts is best presented in bullet form...

I know this is somewhat nitpicky, but you asked!

Yeah, I didn't write the text, I just copied and pasted it from what the client gave me. The most I did was split the text between the homepage and about page, and encode a couple ampersands. I'd rewrite, but not rewriting it is easier.
