How do I add a forum to my site? I am thinking of phpbb - it looks powerful and is free. Any suggestions.

Download the package from their site and follow the instructions or use the instant installer (NOT recommended by many here, although provided as a free service by Powweb within OPS).

Make sure you update with all the latest patches and keep it up-to-date as all forum software is regularly attacked by hackers. Only by having the latest version and patches do you protect yourself.

Ah-ha! Never thought about hackers. Thanks for your help. If there is a more recommended forum, let me know.

I recommend using the SMF forum from www.simplemachines.org/

But no matter which one you choose, you will need to keep up to date with any updates and security patches.

Whoa! I looked at the features of both. Hard choice. Does anyone know whick is simpler to administer. I am a neophite.
