I currently have two installs of Wikka Wiki in subdomains on my powweb website. They were created before the server transfer using the instant installer that Powweb used to offer for them. They are working fine.
I'm trying to create a third install in an other subdomain, but Powweb has removed their instant installer option for WikkaWiki, so I'm using the install package for the program. I've run into a problem in the install that seems to be in my configuration of the connection between WikkaWiki and the mySQL database. I think the problem is merely that I'm not providing the right, powweb specific info to the installer program.
The install program asks for the following information:
MySQL host:
MySQL database:
MySQL user name:
MySQL password
I've set up the database, and the required user name and password. Those names all match. The installer defaults to "localhost" for the MySQL host line. When I ran the installer the first time, I got a message "Testing MySQL connection settings... FAILED".
I went back over everything, and figured that maybe I wasn't supposed to use "localhost" - so I tried putting in the "mysql13.powweb.com" as indicated on the mySQL admin page. No luck, same error.
Anybody have any ideas? Is there some quirk to passwords and names that I don't know about? (I gave the mysql database the same name and password as the database I set up for the other wikis)
Thanks in advance.
