View Full Version : Custom Text Under USER ID
Anyone know what the magic number of posts is to receive the custom text option under your User Id (instead of "Registered")? I don't think it's 50 cause I don't have the option...:(

They must have raised the limit. I don't have that option. Sure would be nice of a caring, generous, kind moderator to "hook me up" with that option. ;)
Surely, taking into account that I have 50+ posts since I registered yesterday would let them know I'll be a good contributor and may have aspirations of being a moderator. ;)

hmmm i'm not even to 50 posts and i can change mine... maybe you have to be registered for long enough or something...

Are you sure you can't do it already? If you can change do the custom text maybe you can do an avatar.
Are you looking in the right place?
To change your "Custom User Test", it is under "user cp" (User Control Panel), and under the "Edit Profile" tab. (about 1/2 way down - it will ask you for "Custom User Text".
The Avatar is under the "Edit Options" tab.
If it is not there, well I don't know??? :)

Yes, I was PMing RS and he told me exactly where it should be.

My only suggestion is to wait until tomorrow to see if it is there.
My only guess is there might be a job that runs every day or something to see who has the correct number of post to show that option. Or possible you have to be here for XX number of days (which I've only been here for a couple of weeks.)
So maybe wait to see if it is there tomorrow. If not, well ???????

It's possible if the system was set up that way when you registered.

It seems to have let me do my custom text. Now i gotta find a graphic so i can be like everyone else.............

I formally dedicate this post to EVERYONE getting 50 posts.........
PowWeb recently upgraded to a new version of vBulletin. That could have something to do with the Avatar/Title question.
As you can imagine, when they updated and tested it, the Avatar/Title options were most likely not the HIGHEST item on the list to test to make sure was properly configured and working properly. ;)
Once Andrew, Starr, James, or another Admin reads this, they'll most likely check things to see if something needs changed. Just give em a little time to stumble into the area. hehe

Yep, it's under Edit Profile in user cp in a section called "Custom User Text" :)

Hey guys don't get that number rising simply by writing stupid things...don't be afraid to grow slowly...bare with me I have seen users like you start with a lot of energy and then stop using the forums at all.
Grow bigger and learn from this forums...that number means that you have read many posts and not that you have written a lot of stuff
