Is anyone else still having a problem? Below please find the total content of messages in my attemp to reslove this issue with powweb. The site remains "blackholed" "as we speak" 12 hours after the last massage from support.

Your response is puzzling... You say the problem is "resolving as we speak"
then you ask "what exactly is the problem".

As we speak the problem remains, I can not access my site at
www.silver-wings.us.

What is the time frame for this fix? I can not help but ask, just what is
the problem and its solution you are "resolving as we speak"? ;-)

In reading others responses to apparently the same problem, I too vote for
changing the name of my current server to BLACKHOLE.powweb.com. ;-)

Is this a new site ? Or an existing website that has been transfered over to powweb in the last day/two ?

About 26-28 hours ago i applied for a site - i have now full FTP access & can see it on the test server..
Although the email I got from support, says it may take 72 hours to complete the domain name part of the registration.

I'll have to wait till tomorow - Hopefully ;-) - or Turesday (at the latest..)

This site was up for about a month on MOON, then was up for a short time when they moved us to LUNA (aka BLACKHOLE). Since it was moved to LUNA, its been up and down, but the last few days its been down. I can FTP into it, and the content is still as it was a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks

I can't see your site.

Just to clarify it is lunar not luna although black hole was a good name for it.

The site could be seen without the www! Try http://silver-wings.us alone.
Nice big American flag at center.
Another strange thing is the IP received after pinging the site:
66.150.5.26 and this is not lunar.powweb.com IP.
Something very messy around and I think this is not Powweb fault. Look at your registrar CP first.
Check also your temporary address.

Your domain isnt pointing to our name servers.

Hi Starr,

It has been pointing at "http://silver-wingsus.powweb.com/" since I signed up for hosting here. It was working fine, then after the "moon" to "lunar" move the problems started.

If this is not the correct place to be pointing:

1)Why did it work for weeks?
2)What changed (besides the moon to lunar move)?
3)And most inportant, where should I have it pointing?

Thanks

What Starr means is that when you signed up for your PowWeb package, you should have also updated your domain record to use PowWeb's nameservers.

Right now, per your domain record, your nameservers are:
Name Server: DNS1.NAME-SERVICES.COM
Name Server: DNS2.NAME-SERVICES.COM
Name Server: DNS3.NAME-SERVICES.COM
Name Server: DNS4.NAME-SERVICES.COM
Name Server: DNS5.NAME-SERVICES.COM

You will need to go to your registrar (where you bought the domain name) and change the nameservers.

The temporary address, silver-wingsus.powweb.com is only good for 30 days from the time you sign up.

Ok,

Two of my three questions were answered, but I still need info to answer question three.

"3) And most important, where should I have it pointing?"

Thanks

Sorry 'bout that.

At your registrar, you need to set your nameservers to be:
ns3.powweb.com (64.63.125.203 if you need it) Primary NS
ns2.powweb.com (64.63.125.202) Secondary NS

It's important that you do NOT enter the above in your DNS information at OPS.powweb.com!

First I want to thank everyone that responded.

I have changed the namesevers to powwebs. Now waiting for the updates to propagate around the world.

Sigh, I really was wanting to keep using my registrars 5 (five) nameservers, as they are scattered all over the country and seem to have a great response time and redundancy. And any changes were mapped to the web within an hour... I know it does not seem likely but they clamed to have a process that takes the worldwidewait out of domain name changes, I tested it with 4 domains, and it does seem to work. Their nameservers pointing at powweb worked great until my "temp" location was deleted by powweb.....

I did not realize that "http://silver-wingsus.powweb.com" would be deleted after 30 days, was working fine until then... but I am sure powweb has their reasons, and rules is rules after all. ;-)

However I am still really really wondering what it was that "Technical Support" <support@powweb.com> meant when they said:

> Jean,

This forum and its people is great!!!!!! It was a real big reason for me to choose Powweb for hosting. I read lots from it before making that choice.

Thanks again to all that responded, Ill just wait it out now.... ;-)

Pulled from my package setup email from PowWeb:

"You can access your site with the below Temporary URL until your domain is registered or delegated with us. The Temporary URL will only work for 30 days."

Hope this helps!
