I would like to suggest a new Topic for Web Developers. The topic Microsoft Expression Web Software.
Since FrontPage is being replaced by Expression Web I'm sure many of us, including myself have lots of questions or comments about this new software.
I for one have just purchased the Update version of this software for previous FrontPage users and have several questions even prior to installing.
Currently my sites due to their size, are maintained on the fly, thru the server verses using my hardrive. My primary question is.. now with using Expression can I continue to do this?

Has anyone here started using Microsoft Expressions Web yet. I've downloaded and started using the tutorials and playing on the website so far. Seems pretty easy so far. Would like to hear some other people comment that have used it.
Thanks
Dear fanaddicts
It's a pity your question has not been replied to yet in about two months. I am very much interested in the software too. I have been using front page since 1999 and hope I can continue to use its replacement the same way as if it were a front page upgrade.
Are you happy with it? is it still easy?
It would seem that people have not used the new software explaining the lack of responses.
Due to that factor, I don't believe it warrants it own topic on the forum just as of yet. We may be able to talk the powers that be into calling the topic Microsoft FrontPage and Expressions. Or something along those lines.

What ever you choose, however this will be a solitary program in the future and since there is already a topic on FrontPage Idon't understand the problem??? I know.. cause a lay person is bringing up the topic? Shame on you PowWeb!
In regards to Meeno... I was a bit disappointed as well. I still have many questions about the program. Would like my own answers too. I even tried to find a Dummys Book and was told nothing to be published until at least July. Big Help. In the mean time I find that the new program doesn't do some of the things I was accustomed to altho publishing on PowWeb, not a problem with it. Lack of extensions a plus. I do lots of graphic displays and they did away with any of the slideshow features.. Really upset me. The WordArt feature that I used often also not available.. Their big draw is layering.. Ok I did that with FrontPage too. Just the hard way!
Actually I've been using a combination of both programs on my exsisting website, and it works.. (knock on wood please) I am developing a new site primarily using Expressions so will be able to tell more when that's done. Been slow going while learning the program the hard way.
Thanks for your message, when you get the program let me know what you think. Yes the expressions program is considered an update. You can get a cheaper version as the upgrade to FrontPage. ;)
I am a customer, fanaddicts, the same as you not a PowWeb employee. I'm a moderator in the forums but will see what I can do to get the name changed. Fair enough?

Sometimes this forum gets to be quite upsetting. Unless you are fully educated in the ins and outs of web design and current operation there of, and know all the technical aspects and terminology you are overlooked or talked over. It's happened many times with many topics, and bottom line is the hosts need to be aware when they talk to customers that they need to tone down the tech dialect. Make it everyday, down to earth conversation so as to allow everyone to understand not just the Techies. It's frustrating to the everyday lay-person trying to make good. I hope there will be some topic on the new program whether tis approved now or whenever.. Just please bring it to light.
I would prefer now not to be a part, months of no response has forced me to find info elsewhere... so disregard my request and please remove my request thread. Thank you
