Is there any way to make "ftp.yourname.com" instead "ftp.powweb, com"?

Hmmm, I was sure that there was an option somewhere in OPS to change ftp.powweb.com to "ftp.mysitename.com"?
Seems that I was wrong :(

If you go to 'cutom dns record' within OPS (login into OPS then click here (http://ops.powweb.com/webControl/domainPark.bml) you can create an A Record for FTP using the IP already used for www

In my case it's 65.254.250.109 - yours could be different, especially the last number.

I've got A records for FTP for all domains and I didn't create them. Maybe it's a legacy thing, but you should be able to create your own anyway.

Okay..I am lost here...I know I didn't create any special records, but when I go to ftp.entrecon.com and login with the proper credentials, it works.

Are you saying I needed to create an A record for FTP? How did I create an A record without knowing it?

Are you saying I needed to create an A record for FTP? How did I create an A record without knowing it?When you told Powweb to set up your account and you're using their nameservers it should (or was in the case of my accounts) be automatically created. If you've got an A record for FTP, then it should work. If it doesn't, contact support.

So, then the answer to teh original question for CPU486US is that the ftp.yourname.com should work and if not contact support.

the ftp.yourname.com should work and if not contact support.

When Endurance bought PowWeb, they told us to use ftp.powweb.com and not ftp.yourname.com as we were able to do on Legacy. I remember using the legacy server names, then the domain name, then the ftp0x server names. Technically, they want us to use ftp.powweb.com, though you could probably create ftp.yourname.com in OPS. I don't bother changing things anymore, because it is too confusing when support is needed. ;)
