Hey, how can I see the files I have? I went to file manager and the only thing I can see is:
-Home
-htdocs
-cgi-bin
-tmp
-index.html

I have installed joomla, and yet no files were created. I installed it like 18 hours ago or something. How can I see joomla's files? I wasn't able to use it, as there are no files. I installed it to this path: htdocs/joomla/joomla, and yet not even the folders exists.

I checked my Database, and it did create the appropriate tables. So what am I missing. Is there some alternatives to File manager?

Another question. Is it safe to use FTP clients? I currently use smartFTP to manage my files. Is there some sort of encryption going, or is it open to the public to see?

You don't explain if you're using the filemanager within OPS or not. It is safe to use most FTP programs for file management (many prefer this to the limited offering in OPS). Many use WS_FTP Pro like myself, and others use FileZilla.

If you select htdocs you should be able to open the folder, that will reveal the other folder, joomla. You should then be able to open that folder to reveal the files or another folder.

There isn't normally any encryption but FTP access isn't open for the public to see.

If you give the domain name then others can test to see if you've uploaded/installed joomla correctly.

I totally removed Joomla, and then I reinstall it again. It's like it's doing nothing when I install it.

Here is the error I'm getting:

To access your Joomla install you would need to point your browser to http://www.<yourdomainname.com>/joomla/joomla/

If you are using the File Manager within OPs, you need to click on the folder next to "htdocs" to open htdocs.

How did you install/remove it? You may need to contact support if you simply deleted the files after using the Central Install option. It may still think you've still got it installed.

I remove it by using the uninstall feature when you click manage, for joomla of course.
I havn't seen the joomla's files in the first place to manually remove them.

Right now, I have installed it again, and this is the error I get when try to visit the location to where I have installed it:

I have used the Uninstall feature when you click manage link for Joomla. I didn't delete any kind of files, as you already know, my problem in the first place is that Joomla's files do not exist.

The above 2 links are the new installed Joomla, have you tried to access them? Same error, eih?

Both links will give an error. htdocs should not be mentioned in the link.

The links should be:
http://theodor.powweb.com/joomla or http://theodor.powweb.com/joomla/joomla or http://theodor.powweb.com/joomla/administrator or some variation depending on where the install placed the files.

In your original post you indicate that cgi-bin is level with htdocs. It should be inside htdocs.
joomla should be a folder inside htdocs. If this isn't the case, then your structure is wrong. Maybe if you contact support they could look and see where the files are being placed if you can't see them.

Okay, thanks for your help. I think I should contact support.

Oh, and cgi-bin is inside htdocs.
