Locale setting in Joomla

What is the right setting for locale in Joomla? I want my site to show up in Dutch so i selected Dutch as language and for the locale setting nl_NL but this doesn't work. I also used the other settings as suggested in the following thread without success:

Are here any users from The Netherlands who can tell me the right setting in Country Locale? I searced trough this forum and at http://www.dutchjoomla.org/ and http://joomla.org/ without any succes. It's not nice to have all the content in Dutch and all the dates in english, so if anyone could help me out...
