AWstats for public viewing

okay so.. not "public" viewing but restricted with .htaccess

as it is right now i'm using the powweb installed awstats. ( http://suluiene.powweb.com/stats/ ) and it requires me to logon to the control pannel. I dont want to give out or create control pannel user/pass to view the stats. I'm planing on giving access to say 5 people to view these stats and lock it at the folder level via htaccess.. but how?

i was hopefull and assigned a subdomain mapping.. that failed. any other ideas?

You have to install your own custom solution at a different URL and set up .htaccess authentication on that directory.

If you want some nice stats with the ability to give various users access, check out Google Analytics. I added them about a week ago to a couple of my sites and they seem to work pretty good. If you are using Google Adwords it makes even more sense!

I really like awstats.. guess it's time to do a custom install.
