I am still working on this but I am hoping someone has time for feedback. What about the colors and image placement? I tried to use Kitchensink's critique.

I'm a fan of simple color schemes...particularly white backgrounds. IMHO you've got enough good content and pics to not need fancy schmancy color schemes and such. I'd say drop the color behind the text (make it white) and see how that looks.
