Despite cross-browser problems and such, I think javascript is really fun to use, so right now I'm experimenting with some different effects.

Anyway, would something like this too much?

If you had an image background, then faded it away as the text appeared, that may be interesting for an appropriate website. I usually don't create websites that should use this, but I can see where this could be fun on artsy websites. By the way, I like the TITLE text. ;)

lol. this topic just showed up in my rss feed.

Anyway. Yeah, this probably wouldn't be good for most websites. I might make an experimental site, though, where I just combine a whole bunch of these kinds of things.

It's like all those flash-based websites, except hopefully more user friendly. And with no sound.

Javascript is a great alternative to Flash for those who do not have Flash players installed or enabled. There may be someone who just HAS to have it! ;)

That's really odd considering I'm testing in 2.0.0.3 (on a side note, it downloaded an update and will install the newest version next time I launch). Maybe it's an extension thing? I've got like 35 extensions, you never know what might alter rendering.

Thanks. I'm thinking I have an extension conflicting with rendering, given this is what Gmail looks like:

I have 31 extensions, so the chances of something messing up on my end are fairly high.
