View Full Version : Refund request
Since you guys seem unable to fix this MySQL issue, and it's not rocket science so I don't understand.... But since you are unable to get it fixed, can I get a refund? I've just signed up a week ago for "service" with your company.

You must call billing at 1-866-476-9932 to talk to PowWeb support. This is a customer-to-customer forum.
I've seen quite a few posts from the powweb staff... ::: looks around :::

Yes, but this is not the official means to contact support. The staff members who did post here are not in the billing department or even support techs. So, they can't give you a refund and they can't fix the problem. You have to contact support and verify that you are administrator of your account to get official help.
Yvette is entirely right. This is a customer to customer forum and you need to contact support. Your best bet is to contact them through your OPS panel if emailing them and since you list your location as FL you are on the same timezone as the offices of PowWeb.
I got a partial credit from them via submitting a support ticket.
It sounds like you're within you 30 day risk-free trial, so I doubt you'll have any troubles once you contact the billing department through the aforementioned channels. For folks beyond their trial period, you may still be granted a prorated refund of some sort, but only if you ask. I suspect prorated refunds for prepaid hosting are discretionary, and not guaranteed (don't have the ToS memorized yet ;) ).

BCB, your sites are running fast right now. I hope they stay that way.

Charles,
I really wish you would visit the User Reported Outages forum and read the discussions there. You seem to promote PowWeb very heavily and yet you do not seem to understand that there are major performance issues that even the PowWeb staff admit are not acceptable.
It would be very much appreciated if you became more educated on the product (PowWeb) that you keep trying to sell to everyone. It would also be appreciated if you would make sure that the advice you give to people is actually true for PowWeb. Much of the information I have seen you post is very general and not specific to PowWeb. This is a PowWeb forum and people are looking for answers on how to do things here.

I agree. And we don't post affiliate links in signatures on forums. That is a form of spam and not proper forum etiquette. ;)

I was just looking at those links. It appears that the site was created to promote PowWeb even before Charles became a member. I looked back at some of the posts made on that website and they are mis-leading. They make it sound like the poster was doing the actions they talk about on PowWeb, when in fact they did not have an account yet and were just using the information that other users in the PowWeb forum were providing.
As we don't discuss billing (because beyond general advice we can't help) in this forum another thread needs to close....
As the answer to the question has been reached it is probably best to close this thread....
Actually if you go to the links in charles' signature and follow them back to PowWeb, they go to the homepage without any affiliate linkage in the URL.
His links are pretty much useless here as most people here are PowWeb customers and would have no reason to go to those sites. Also some of the promos are outdated.

He's actually cloaking his links to PowWeb with PHP. If you look at your cookies after you click on a PowWeb link from his site, you'll see a cookie called AffCookie.
I'm going to remove his affiliate links indefinitely until I feel like he's here for the right reasons. Just like we didn't let notix (if you remember him) spam his affiliate link in the old IRC channel, we won't let people use our forum for spamming their links either.
See, that's why your name is in green and I'm in blue. Guess I should have checked a bit deeper. Thank you, sir. :D
