Hello,

I am a new member and also very new to creating an online store website. It is harder than I expected. If I am not using this forum correctly, I apologize. I am new using this as well. I am using Powweb to host my website. I have been using SiteDelux to design my website and it was not so bad to use. I have installed ZenCart and osCommerce shopping cart but then I am not sure how to go about changing text and stuff. So I decided to purchase ShopSite Starter at Powweb hoping they would give me full support but he sent me to this forum. That is why I am here. Since I have already created my product pages using SiteDelux, I would like to know if there is a way for me to connect ShopSite shopping cart to SiteDux in order for me to process purchase transactions?

Thank you.

I do not know the answer but you can look at shopsitecorner.com. I think the forums are not active now but you might find your answer there.

ShopSite and SiteDeluxe are two different applications with no way of transferring data from one to the other. If you don't have a lot of products, I'd suggest just rebuilding the store.

For most shopping cart solutions, you would rebuild the store in the shopping cart program rather than integrate with your existing pages. If you want to use ShopSite, ZenCart or osCommerce, you would have to add the products the database. There are remotely hosted shopping carts, not just PayPal cart, that can be integrated with existing web pages. There are pros and cons for each.

As Joshua said, I would simply rebuild the store into the new database. Try a few products in each and decide with shopping cart you like best.

I know this post is old, but I just wanted add this bit of information about ShopSite. You can create links into an existing website with Shopsite. Click Merchandising Tab> Merchandising Tools> Order Anywhere link- gives you the html code for that product to drop into your existing website. Two tags are created [add product] and/or [view cart]. I found this very helpful.
