My joomla died today, where do I start?

I don't even know where to start..

I get the same error trying to get to the admin panel

The "2" on the bottom of the Unavailable box indicates that Joomla is having trouble reaching the database.

Use the File manager under Site Tools in OPS or use an FTP program to look at configuration.php in root directory and make sure that your username and password as well as the database name are all correct.

You should be looking for:
$mosConfig_db =
$mosConfig_host =
$mosConfig_password =
$mosConfig_user =

You are participating in a lot of threads about your CMS problems. Some advice may be repetitive.

Do you have a backup of this database? You should. You could try to remove and reinstall Joomla, using the latest stable version. It askes you to recreate your database. You can import your database, one table at a time, if it is large.

Can you describe the error you see in the admin panel? Did you see this thread (http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?t=75934&highlight=joomla+admin)?

in a rookie move I made a new db in order to rebuild my forum, but I used a username that was allready in use so when I gave it a pwd it changed the pwd from my other db..

FIXED, one down 2 to go (forum and shop)

there is a Settings_bak.php in my directory dated today, it would be nice if powweb let me know what they were doing so we are not fighting each other making changes..
