I'm having a problem since mysqlo8 was updated. I get an "x" for my graphics when I bring up a web page that is attached to my message board. I checked to make sure the graphics was in the correct folder, and it was.

I'm similar to many Powweb customers as I don't do data very well. I also know it's something that will eventually get resolved.

I read other threads that talked about something similar to my problem. If you can explain what is happening, in detail if you can, and maybe a few suggestions..check lists..I'll work through it.

Thanks.

By the way, here is a link to one of the pages.

I went to my web site and took the spaces away from the graphics to the file. The 'x' are still there.

Keyplyr, what is causing that error page to appear when I select the graphic. Here is how I upload the web page.

1. It's an excel web page that is saved as a Web page. I've used it since 2005 with no problems, the graphics always show.

2. When I re-saved the excel web page, I took out the spaces in the graphic names.

3. I uploaded the files to the ftp site.

4. Same problem.

Here is an interesting, or at least I think so, occurrence. I just realized that I upload my web site via the ftp to Powweb. My database, however, is in a different folder than the web site. Graphics works OK on the message board which is attached to MySQL. However, when I select a link on a message in the message board, a link to a web site that is located on my Powweb area, that is when the graphics don't work.

This is very, very interesting. I do not need a quick answer. But if you don't mind, or if someone else answers, please give more information on what you think. The more details the better. I'm not sure I understand that the path does not point to image or how to check for that or the scripting.

Hope I'm not being a pain.
Thanks,:o

It works in Firefox, but not in IE6

Could it be a leeching or hot linking problem?

:surprised

I FIXED IT...I FIXED IT..YEAHHH!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to keyplyer and Halfabee for not blowing me off. Both of you gave me some direction and I spent the last week and several ... no...many, many hours analyzing my web site and every single folder and file. I learned a whole lot of stuff about my web site and how it's put together. That is what drove me to the solution.

Everything looked good and the changes I made did not seem to work. So knowing that, my next step was to delete the current web site and upload last months site, which did work. Well, a little synapse in my brain fired and redirected me to see what the main differences were between the old and the new. After 8 hours I found that the .htaccess file on the current site had some coding for hot links. I didn't have that coding in the old site.

So, I deleted the coding, and it still didn't work. But then I decided to put it back and delete the reference to a "gif". I opened up my Monthly report and saw the globes a turning. I screamed in joy. Then I went in and deleted the "jpg" and the rest of the site came up. I immediately took a swatch of tape from my tape dispenser and wrapped it proudly around the bridge of my glasses.

I realize that this coding is needed to prevent hot links from being introduced. However, until a more permanent fix is found, this works for me.

Thanks again for all the help I received and for the learning experience. This subject is resolved. :dd
