I found a free alternative to phpmyadmin and it works!
www.mysqlquickadmin.com

Before I even bother, what is the maximum size an imported database can be?
Probably as big as the upload limit in php.ini.
The script has a few issues, but at least it just doesn't "hang" like phpmyadmin.
hello... i have uploaded the app to my account but i cant connect to database...
the server im connecting is mysql12.powweb.com. My web application connects to this server and works ok.
Whats the problem?
thanks
Server names changed. MySql12.powweb.com should work but try the new format.
I tried it but i cant login. I put user password and server but the application doesnt say me anything and automatically change server "doblexl.powwebmysql.com" to localhost.
Is necessary any configuration to make it works? I only uploaded the directory of the program.
thanks
ok doesnt matter. I don't need to access mysql with this program.
Thanks

It worked with no problems for me, it has a few flaws, but at least it loads unlike phpmyadmin.
I was searching and app that supports triggers and stored procedures but we havent the posibility of using that features in powweb by at the moment.
Phpmyadmin works for me. Its not a problem.
Thanks
Wouldn't it be nice to use the tools released by MySQL!
I know they are all remote client tools! ...and powweb does not support remote tools.
But it would be nice! and they just beg the question of, "why were they developed?" :)

I'm opening a ticket with PowWeb on my phpMyAdmin issues. I don't believe the onus should be on the customer to try to search around for an alternative when we're paying PowWeb to provide an administrative solution. phpMyAdmin should work just fine in a version 5 environment...this really needs to go back to PowWeb so that they can fix this problem.
In the meantime, a work-around is available.

I'm confused. Allegedly there's another software package that interfaces with PowWeb's mySQL servers called mysqlquickadmin.
I opened a ticket regarding the inability to access via phpMyAdmin, which is what PowWeb currently has tied to their administrative screens, and this is their response:
[Removed as per forum rules]
How would more MySQL servers rectify the issue, given that mysqlquickadmin is an apparent workaround? Am I not getting accurate information?

More servers means less load per server (hopefully)
It is not only phpmyadmin that is slow, many scripts that do semi-complex sql queries are having problems.
The change to the mysql server name allows for server swaps with minimal downtime.

I saw Powweb's October 3rd post and that was exactly what was happening to me. For those who missed it, the reason for our phpMyAdmin problems is here:
We have backed out the recent upgrade to phpMyAdmin 2.11; the 2.8 version has been reinstated until we have an additional stability release.
Although the 2.11 version adds some additional functionality, it was causing additional slowness in the phpMyAdmin administrative lookups and therefore resulting in some queries for the left panel (table) contents not to complete successfully.
