Hello I have updated the site www.wtjr.org
there has been some changes, new version of wp, upgrade dbase, new theme I know it looks the same but there are differences I modded it to look similar, such as I now use widgets, colors, and content is now joined to headers if you remember the old site, journalized theme is now gone (well almost) (:, new plugins and off course widgets including widgitize anything that allows php code in widget in sidebar, page mods, posts mods (still hacking that). Though it looks very similar many things have changed, also the public file site, and the engineering section though I took down the template and I am using default there for now till i widgitize a engineering template, the public file section is a mod of default I did, that I kind of like....
so what do you think? its like wtjr.org 2.0 rightnow...
I also am using zen photo for the photo album so I guess I have 4 dbases going

The main work has been done in making wordpress appear as a cms. The comments have been removed I don't use them. Also the main purpose of posts is for the center content on the main page they really have no other purpose on my page. The main content is in the pages themselves. For this there is a css template for a page so it drops the right side bar when displayed. I removed all unnecessary php code from the page also the posts. The page scales within reason to the screen size, the header also scales.

The theme started as blue line 1.0 that I modded to look like my modded version of journalized that I had but was not widget ready. For those not familiar with wordpress the widgets are drop and drag side bar plugins, that is the main difference in these newer themes are they widget ready. But to achieve my desired results I used widgetize anything that allows php code in widget, for example in allows display of links by category number.

Lets see a plugin also makes the search search pages not just posts as posts just serve in manner I described.

One of the things I like is the site now has a official footer, I need to add more in there but at least the bottom is sealed off. The left and right side bar as you notice do not always grow to the footer, that is what I would like but has been rather hard to achieve.

The main page is a lot like the newsletter it changes monthly so do the pictures on it, the fresh content comes from the newsletter cut and paste.

We are now streaming as you may notice, the how to is in the engineering section of the site. The next addition is video on demand.... I am experimenting now with that.. if you notice the video on demand section if actually lists the content of a ftp folder it lists it itself, no editing needed it lists whats ever uploaded there that was a big step forward. I am trying to automate the whole thing including recording and ftp to site.
The size right now is over 100meg per 1/2 hour that is rather large but I do not have a mpeg4 capture card I have a pvr150 that can get aplugin to convert again in the works.

It is looking rather busy I must admit, and also it does not pass validation (yet).

One of nice things about wordpress is I can login anywhere and edit on the fly inluding template files.

Some may wonder the wisdom of using wordpress for this type of CMS thing.
I like wordpress, its not bloated and it works, I tryed several others and again I go back to wordpress.

I have autoftp 2.0 setup and tonight I am going to try and have it upload 12x 144.5 meg video files to the wtjr.org video on demand section. I created a .bat file and used windows sceduler to automate the autoftp 2.0 upload at 1201am. I also created a .bat file to clean some .img files from the recording directory daily at 11:55pm. As the remote and local directory will be a automatic copy of each other.

aahh I am running win 2000 with a pvr150 on the recording computer if you are wondering.. its also schduled to record shows daily off the channel using wintv2000, hopefully this whole thing will run automaticly.

Update the files did load, but streaming of them seems a little problematic you can try here
