I bought a new Lenovo laptop and, as usual, the laptop came pre-installed with many programs. At one point, I had 100 processes running in Task Manager.

I removed many of those processes, but still have several left running in which I do not know which to remove. I have 2GB of RAM, but my Lenovo still throws error messages of "Low on Memory."

I went into MSconfig under Services and noticed that the following were checked mark

Any help as to which I can uncheck would be greatly appreciated - Thank You

on XP, i think services.msc is better to use than msconfig for services. Google the name, and you'll likely get plenty of hits describing whether or not it should be set to manual, automatic, or disabled. For many of the services, it depends on what you use...for example, you can turn off fast user switching if there's only one account.

google found this, which is a start at a guide. I'm sure some good querying will find what you need - http://tweakhound.com/vista/tweakguide/page_7.htm

or clankiller.com. :) http://clankiller.com/technical/tweaks/winxp/servicestweaks.php
That's just XP.

As for the startup apps, technically you don't have to have any of that. You can uncheck it all and your machine will be fine. Of course your antivirus and stuff won't be running, but that's your choice.
