Does anyone know how to remove a line (from the header) in MS Word 2007?

Depends on how the line was created. I think there are three ways to create a line. If it is truelly in the header, you will need to View header/footer.

The first is with the drawing tool and to remove it you should be able to click on it (you will see the little square handles on each end of the line appear) and hit the Delete key.

The second is with a paragraph border. Click on the line and select Format>Borders and Shading (at least in MW 2003 that is where it is). Click on None, make sure it says Paragraph under Apply To and click OK

The third, which is the least likey, is that someone inserted a table and only put a border on the bottom. Removing this follows the same steps as the paragraph border, but you will have Table under the Apply To
