Starr writes > If you are on saturn.powweb.com, this machine was rebooted @ Fri Nov 9 11:01:08 PST 2001

Would you please explain what this means and why we need to know this?

rebooting a machine simply means restarting it. You'll need to know this because if your website is hosted on saturn it will be unaccessible for the duration of that reboot.

I know the defination of "reboot"

Let me re-phrase... Starr, what's the point of informing us after the fact?

I see your point, your thinking, "tell us before as opposed to after". If this were to be a planned outage of any duration (reboots don’t count), we would have placed an announcement to that effect. This was only standard maintenance. My post was merely an "FYI" in case anyone had a report their page was inaccessible.

I hope this clarifies things a bit. :)
