Hello,

I have been looking at ShopSite. One question if I set up the Starter package and want to upgrade to Manager or Pro what is the process?

Thank You,

Pauly

You can choose the Upgrade to ShopSIte Manager or Pro via the OPS Control Panel E-Commerce Area, Premium Features -- ShopSite -- this will take you to an area to review the various features of the products and give you a link to purchase the upgraded product.

If you think you will be doing this, don't spend a lot of time on your ShopSIte Starter layout/setup -- just use it enough to get a feel for the way things work.

When the upgrade is performed, you may need to have a ticket to reset the Authorization file (.aa) -- the starter and (Manager & Pro) use a slightly different format, so although the databases, features get upgraded, you will usually not be able to get into orders or other features that need the encryption/key or authorization...

ShopSite runs on a pool of ShopSite dedicated servers for Powweb -- in other words, it is NOT installed on your account directly (though some of the data is stored there) -- this means that it is rarely affected by any account features or issues related to the shared platform and tends to hum along with few issues... this does, however, mean that you can't edit the ShopSite databases directly or bulk upload clients, download orders, integrate with other programs as you could if it were installed directly on your account --- but, the tradeoff is reliability, speed and security of the system.... most common Payment Gateways/Card Service providers are well supported by the ShopSite system.

Hi Dmacminn,

I was trying out shopsite and wanted to know the best way to remove it?

Thank You,

Pauly

Just remove products and pages, etc and republish the base without any info -- there is no real way to disable the store without messing with account features (that could prevent you from "ever" using it in future).

I have a question on changing the password. What is the password? is it my powweb ops password? I am not sure because it doesn't spell it out as to what it may be. I just want to make sure it's secure that no one can get into it but me.

Thanks,

Mike

Ok, I think I understand it. I have to log into OPS in order in ShopSite so I don't want to change my password from within that, correct?

Ok, what am I missing here? I wanted to test it out and selected one of my items, filled out shipping info (and checkbox for shipping is same as mailing address) and clicked on submit order.

At that point it eventually gets to a paypal page but I get a white box with "Click here to retry" or "return to the homepage" which ends up being paypal. I have only paypal checked and configured as far as I can tell properly. Why isn't this working as expected? Anyone else have this with Shopsite Starter and have an answer? I can't announce this is updated/live till I get this resolved. Everything else I looked at appears fine.

And yes, I have a business account (upgraded from premier when I was trying to get osCommerce working last weekend). I've been with paypal for a little while now.

Please go into details as to how to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Ok, I think changing the way the frame is handled to pop-out fixed the issue. Now it gets me to paypal login (and my buddy tested it too w/Safari on Mac OSX). Nice! Now it appears that it's open for business! Thanks!
