I'm a total newbie.

I'm working on installing my wordpress blog. Things have been going smoothly UNTIL I get to "If you want to have your WordPress installation in its own subdirectory on your website (e.g. http://example.com/blog/), rename the directory "wordpress" to the name you'd like the subdirectory to have and move or upload it to your web server. For example, if you want the WordPress installation in a subdirectory called "blog," you should rename the directory called "wordpress" to "blog" and upload it to the root directory of your web server."

I do want it in it's own subdirectory, called "blog" (thank god for convenience). Anyway, I don't know what the root directory is. It is the main directory htp://chubbalub.com or is it htp://chubbalub.com/htdocs.

And do I move over the entire folder that has no been renamed "blog" or just the contents of the folder "blog."

TIA.

If you put the files in htdocs/blog the URL to it is http://chubbalub.com/blog

You need to move the files on your computer in blog to the htdocs/blog dir, otherwise if you just move the blog to htdocs/blog you end up with htdocs/blog/blog
